Races of Note:
* (Sept. 2) Bison Open – Bucknell opened its 2016 season by claiming the top 13 spots in a field of 50 participants, led by Ross Pirnie, who posted his first career victory in the race. Drew Dorflinger was solid in his Bison debut en route to earning Patriot League Rookie of the Week accolades.
* (Sept. 10) Detroit Titan Invitational – the Bison won the team title, taking three of the top five spots. Luke Giugliano was the runner-up among 120 participants.
* (Oct. 29) Patriot League Cross Country Championship – Will Bordash was the top Bison runner, finishing 10th to earn Second Team All-Patriot League recognition. Giugliano just missed all-league status, placing 15th among 106 runners.
* (Nov. 11) NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional – Bordash cracked the top-20 to earn his first All-Region citation, as the Bison finished sixth among 22 teams.
Looking Ahead to 2017: Three of Bucknell’s top six runners – Drew Dorflinger, Jacob Stupak and Ben Siciliano – were rookies last season, and head coach Kevin Donner hopes to see his young group take a step forward in year two. The Bison return All-Patriot League and All-Region performer Will Bordash along with upperclassmen Chad Sussman and Zach Williams. Dorflinger went on to earn Rookie of the Meet honors at the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships after winning the 5,000m. With Navy graduating a strong senior class and just eight points separating second-place and fifth-place at last year’s league championships, there is reason for optimism that Bucknell can move up in the standings in 2017.
Season/Home Opener: (Sept. 1) Bison Open
